From her recently released single album ‘Christmas Promises’
Chung Ha has unveiled a touching visual for her new festive song ‘There Goes Santa Claus!’, featuring a reunion with her former I.O.I bandmates.
On Christmas Eve (December 24), Chung Ha unveiled a special visual for her track ‘There Goes Santa Claus!’. The song initially debuted earlier this month on the single album ‘Christmas Promises’, featuring the leading track ‘Sleigh’.
Shot in a home video style, the latest clip showcases Chung Ha enjoying the holidays with friends, coworkers, and staff while sharing a delicious meal, engaging in conversation, and playing party games. Significantly, some of the singer’s past I.O.I colleagues, such as Lim Na-young, Kim Se-jeong, and Jung Chae-yeon, appear in cameo roles in the video.
“It doesn’t rain when you allow it to snow / Can you hear his ho-ho-ho sound? / Gripping the reins in his large crimson coat / Remember to leave the door ajar for tonight / Since the chimney has become a bit snug / Listen to the sleigh bells chiming, there goes Santa Claus,” she sings in the refrain.
This is the first occurrence in four years that I.O.I members have gathered publicly. In May 2021, nine out of the group’s 11 members – with Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong absent – convened for a livestream celebrating the fifth anniversary of their debut. Zhou subsequently participated through a video call.
‘Christmas Promises’ also signifies Chung Ha’s third release after joining Jay Park’s label More Vision, succeeding her August track ‘Algorithm’. The initial release was her March single album ‘Eenie Meenie’, which included the B-side song ‘I’m Ready’. Earlier this month, NME listed the latter as one of the 25 Best K-pop tracks of 2024.
