Federal Government Distributes 4,000 Water Pumps to Empower Katsina Farmers

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing agriculture throughout Nigeria by donating farming tools valued at millions of naira to promote agricultural endeavors in Katsina State. This was revealed by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, while distributing the items to farmers in the state.

Kyari pointed out that the federal government provided 4,000 water pumping machines, 4,000 units of sprayers, 4,000 litres of insecticides, 4,000 litres of selective herbicides, and 4,000 litres of non-selective herbicides. He remarked that these contributions formed a larger strategy aimed at improving farming during both the dry and wet seasons in Katsina State.

Kyari noted that the items are intended to bolster the state government’s agricultural initiatives, ease the pressures on farmers, and enhance productivity.

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State thanked the federal government for its assistance and mentioned that the state government had acquired agricultural equipment to enhance the initiative. He guaranteed farmers that the implements would be given at no cost to assist them in enhancing their outputs.

The items supplied by the state consist of 4,000 manual tillers, 4,000 solar water pumps, and 48,000 bags of fertilizer. Radda reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to making agriculture a vital contributor to economic growth and self-sufficiency in Katsina State.

Farmers attending the event praised both the federal and state governments for their support, emphasizing that the aid would help ease some of the difficulties they encounter, particularly in the dry season.

The collaborative actions of federal and state governments are anticipated to enhance food security and strengthen local farmers, thereby reinforcing Katsina’s status as one of Nigeria’s agricultural centers.
