Ruben Amorim’s Fierce 10-Word Reaction to Marcus Rashford’s United Exile After Wolves Loss

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim declined to comment on inquiries regarding the ongoing absence of Marcus Rashford from his team, as the Red Devils suffered their third defeat this week on Boxing Day.

Rashford has not played for his team since the Europa League victory against Viktoria Plzen in Czechia, revealing in a shocking interview that he is ‘prepared for a new challenge.’

The forward has not appeared for United since, missing the last four matches, three of which resulted in losses for the Old Trafford team.

As the outcomes aren’t aligning with Amorim’s preferences, the pressure inevitably increases, particularly concerning issues like players not participating and the implications that can be inferred from these omissions.

Consequently, Amorim was tight-lipped when inquiries shifted to the missing star, who has barely impressed this season, netting only four goals in 15 Premier League matches.

“He’s always going to have the same reason,” he mentioned to Prime Video when questioned about Rashford.

We must remain the same professionals, the same individuals, whether we win or lose. Being defeated, I must become more resilient. I will persist with my concept until the conclusion.

“If he’s absent, you can decide,” the Manchester United manager said.

Rashford’s ongoing absence from the team has been a subject of discussion pretty much since his interview surfaced earlier this month.

Although Amorim will recognize that the most effective method to eliminate questions is to improve outcomes – assuming he is concerned by the inquiries at all – it may also be crucial, at this early stage of his leadership, to establish a boundary.

As Wes Brown, the former Man United defender, pointed out during Prime Video’s coverage, Rashford’s performance complicates his chances of breaking into the lineup, especially with players like Amad Diallo excelling in the new setup.

“It’s unfortunate once more that he isn’t in the team,” Brown stated on Prime Video.

It appears the manager has established his conditions: “If you wish to be part of the team, these are the rules you must follow – whether it’s during training, off the pitch, or anything else.”

‘And in the end, that has still not been resolved.’ It will be a truly sorrowful day if we witness Marcus leave.

However, in the end, you must be in sync with the manager’s thinking. I truly believe we are nearing [Amorim’s most powerful line-up]. I believe this is the closest you can reach at the moment.

Following 30 goals in the 2022-23 season, Rashford found it difficult to match the standards he established in 2023-24, as his inconsistent performance carried on into 2024-25.

Earlier this month, Mail Sport reported that the club might consider offers starting from £40 million for the English forward.

Nonetheless, Ben Foster, who had stints at United, West Brom, Watford, and Birmingham in the Premier League, criticized Rashford and implied that the price might still be slightly excessive.

Marcus Rashford… he mentioned during his Cycling GK podcast. “So many people discuss him, saying ‘when he’s at his best, when he’s at his best’.”

‘He gets a day off once every 10 games.’ Honestly, it’s just once in every 10 matches, and in today’s game, you can’t afford to have a luxury player who contributes only one game out of 10; it’s that straightforward.

Considering the reputation and baggage that accompany it, I don’t believe Mikel Arteta wants that associated with Arsenal at all.

‘He needs to leave Manchester United.’ I believe it will be an MLS (transfer) or something similar. It will need to be a significant salary reduction.

“Once that fire is out, can you recover it?,” he remarked. ‘It must originate from him.’ I believe he won’t be able to retrieve it.

“Once more, you’re discussing money, which truly destroys everything, guys.”

Once individuals secure that substantial contract and have five years of financial stability, along with all they’ll ever require for their lifetime, that diminishes (that drive) significantly.
