Unforgettable Moment: ‘I Didn’t Break Down, but…’ – Noah Lyles’ Physiotherapist Shares First Reaction to His Olympic Gold in Paris

Noah Lyles’ physical therapist recalls the time the American sprint sensation won Olympic gold in the 100m in Paris.

Dr. Jo Brown, Noah Lyles’ physiotherapist, has recounted the moment when the American sprint champion was declared the victor of the men’s 100m final at the Paris Olympic Games.

Jo Brown began collaborating with Noah Lyles while she was still new to the field, but she dedicated herself tirelessly to make sure the triple world champion performed at his highest level at the Olympics.

Lyles’ victory was equally a victory for her, and she did not conceal her happiness as she shared her emotions upon hearing that the 27-year-old was declared the winner.

Lyles narrowly won the race, finishing in 9.79 seconds, just milliseconds before Kishane Thompson (9.79 seconds). Ex-world 100m champion Fred Kerley secured a place on the podium in the fiercely competitive race.

It’s as if Dr. Jo Brown had foreseen the outcome, as she disclosed in her recent interview with One News that they had put in relentless effort on his leaning technique, which proved to be crucial in the race.

“When he triumphed, I didn’t fall apart, but it felt so much like, ‘Oh my God, we actually did it.’” At the beginning of the season, we recognized that his leaning was an area we had to improve for both his top speed and his line. “And it was clear that it could potentially come down to that lean,” she disclosed.

Dr. Jo Brown committed herself to collaborating with Noah Lyles and other athletes, making numerous sacrifices due to it being an Olympic year. Over time, she has evolved into one of the top physiotherapists.

Her profession has required her to move away from her home country, New Zealand, yet she dreams that one day she will return and reunite with her family.

“I had to continue appearing every day, and it has likely been one of the greatest years of my life as well as one of the most challenging.” “I barely saw my husband at all,” she stated.
